I can't get enough of Jessica C. at Design-seeds, who has a beautifully inspiring blog, {fresh news}.  I actually need a dose every morning with my coffee.   Soothing, serene and just plain beautiful.

MP Finds: Virtual Shoe Museum

I love shoes.  I have always loved shoes...from as far back as I can remember.  Not an uncommon obsession, I know.

Maybe since I left the corporate world and started my own little studio or maybe since I've had kids and now have to schlep here, there and everywhere, is there no longer the need for high heels and fancy cool footwear.  For a long time, I stopped even looking.  Why bother?  

I realize that I may be practical now but I can still dream and appreciate the beauty of a spectacular pair of shoes!  I stumbled across this awesome site, The Virtual Shoe Museum, founded by Liza Snook, which has a wonderful and very amusing collection of shoes that run the gamut.  Wearable gems...non-wearable beauties...one-of-a-kind art pieces...off the wall...just plain silly.  It's all there and super fun to peruse.  

MP finds: Anne Lindberg

 Thread is an unbelievable medium.  Anne Lindberg has an amazing installation going on now at The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska from January 13 - March 31.  Just cotton thread and staples.  wow.

I happily discovered this artist via Pinterest via a cool art blog called The jealous curator.

Page after page of awe inspiring eye-candy...Design Seeds is a wonderful site with daily posts filled with glorious and truly inspiring color palettes.  I need a daily fix.

MP finds: Outstanding in the Field

First came a truly inspirational find...Jim Denevan, just a guy with a rake...but wow, his sand and earth creations are breathtaking! 

And just when I thought I could not get enough of his amazing work, I learned about Outstanding in the Field.

Denevan, a talented chef as well, began a "roving culinary adventure" that is set, well, pretty much anywhere!  Their mission is to reconnect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.  Amazing.

Cost is about $200 per person and it seems to sell out fast.  Check out the tour locations and find one near you.  Lightbulb!  What an amazing wedding gift!  And they do private events!

The NYC area is sold out for 2011 but I am definitely looking forward to next year!
